Then came along the complete collection of the inspiration behind my drawings. Perfect cut and it all looks very constructible. Why haven't anyone thought of it, in the first place? Love the placement of embelishments and its diamante stroke a very powerful message "Balmain is here to rule!". Balmain's coolest ever Fall collection by Christophe Decarmin. An applause for him.

Thanks for posting more resort looks! I'm never sure whether I should love or hate Balmain... but I think I'm definitely way over that shoulder thing Decarnin has been doing (or copying from Margiela) for the last few seasons. While I don't think anything he did for FW09 was new, groundbreaking or truly original, I do like a lot of the dresses and jumpsuits that don't involve the shoulder. And those drawings you made are pretty impressive... great job!
Oops, I meant FW09 looks, not resort! I think I've been reading so many resort-related posts, I automatically wrote that without thinking!
im totally hooked on this collection when I first saw it.. those shoulders.. need i say more?? LOL. great post.. & i love the large pictures.. i can now see the details real carefully :D but too bad i wasn't the 1st, neither 2nd :(
and i also love the materials incorporated in this collection.. they looked kind of thick and heavily embellished.. kind of like a warrior armor or something which i really adore!

Ah i see, i didn't know that Decarnin copied Margiela's for the past few seasons.. i've just did some survey and it seems to be true specifically on the shoulder part. Its pretty obvious. Thanks for this info. i appreciate his design but rather focus on the embelishments instead. The diamante makes the entire collection looks like a super-rock-star to me :D And Thank you for the compliment, i'll try out something new in the near future possibly as original as possible. ; ) For that, i need a trip to Spain! :D ha ha!
Hi Wendy, yeah i must admit though the shoulders idea are not from him originally, i still feel that it brings substance to this collection. i couldn't imagine them without the shoulder effect + diamante. It will be just as plain as Decarnin himself. Have you seen him? i can't believe my eyes :D
